How do I change the password of my email address?

You cannot retrieve the password of an email mailbox. If you no longer know the current password or want to change it, set a new password.

Note: This guide differs depending on the system (CloudPit or Controlpanel). Use the appropriate section.

Change password in CloudPit

Log in to the CloudPit and open the desired web hosting package.

Open the Emails section and switch to Email Addresses.

Click on Actions for the desired email address and select Edit Email Address.

Enable the option to set a new password and enter the new password.

Alternatively, you can automatically generate a secure password via the key icon.

Save the change. The new password will then be valid for webmail and email programs.

Change password in Controlpanel

Log in to the Controlpanel and open WebhostingEmail Mailboxes.

Click the pencil icon on the right for the desired mailbox to open management.

Enter the new password in the New Password field.

Alternatively, you can automatically create a secure password via Generate Password.

Save the change. The new password will then be valid for webmail and email programs.

Note: If you use the mailbox in an email program, you must also enter the new password there.
