How can I upgrade or downgrade my web hosting?

You don’t always know at the beginning how many resources you’ll need for a web project—these requirements can fluctuate significantly over time. With all of our own web hosting packages, you can upgrade or downgrade to a different web hosting plan at any time—either via self-service or by emailing support@easyname.com
Depending on whether you manage your web hosting via the CloudPit or the legacy Control Panel, the procedure for such a package adjustment is slightly different.
In this article, we explain how you can upgrade or downgrade your web hosting.

1. Package adjustments in CloudPit

If you manage your web hosting package in CloudPit, you can perform a product upgrade at any time via the respective web hosting management menu. To do this, navigate to the management interface as described here: --> Where can I find... in CloudPit?

In the web hosting management interface, the package upgrades available to you are offered under the menu item [Package Upgrade]. By clicking on Upgrade, you can switch packages at any time.

A package downgrade in CloudPit is possible at any time by contacting support—either by email or phone. Please have your --> phone PIN ready, as we need this to authorize the request.

2. Package adjustments in the legacy Control Panel

In our legacy Control Panel, you can upgrade or downgrade your web hosting package at any time via self-service. To do this, either click the [Upgrade] button on the homepage of the [Webhosting] menu, or the menu item [Manage Product] within it.

Upgrades to the next higher plans are always possible immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of the current contract period. If you want to perform a downgrade earlier, please contact us—either by email or phone. Please have your --> Support PIN ready, as we need this to authorize the request.
