Controlpanel - Activate Let's Encrypt Certificate

Please note that Let's Encrypt certificates are only available with a paid web hosting package.

You can activate our free Let's Encrypt certificates via the subdomain settings.

To do this, in the Control Panel either click on the menu item [Domains] and then next to the desired domain on [Subdomains] or on [Webhosting] and then on [Subdomains] to open the management of your subdomains.

Once in the subdomain management, click on the gray [HTTP] button for the desired subdomain. This will open the HTTPS context menu, where you can activate the Let's Encrypt SSL certificate using the toggle switch. You can also use the second toggle switch to activate the redirect from HTTP to HTTPS.

After activating this option, you have the possibility to select the type of redirect:

  • HTTP 301: Moved Permanently
  • HTTP 302: Found or Moved Temporarily
  • HTTP 307: Temporary Redirect
  • HTTP 308: Permanent Redirect

It is recommended to use permanent redirects 301 or 308 for simply changing the protocol. The use of 302 and 307 redirects should only be done if the target should only be temporarily accessible via this URL (subdomain).

Activation of the SSL certificate may take up to 5 minutes. After this process is complete, the SSL certificate is activated on the selected subdomain.
The certificate will be automatically renewed upon expiration.
