If you want to transfer your domain including website and email addresses to easyname, you should follow the steps in the correct order. This will help avoid downtime for your website or email services.
Upon request, we can handle the domain and service transfer as part of our Premium Services. First, we check whether a migration without interruptions is possible.
Change nameservers or DNS records only after the website, email addresses, and required DNS entries are prepared at easyname. Switching too early can cause the website or emails to become unreachable.
This guide differs depending on the system (CloudPit or Control Panel). Please use the appropriate section.
First, add the domain as an external domain in CloudPit. The domain remains registered with the current provider.
Open your web hosting package in CloudPit. Click on MORE and then on Add External Domain.
CloudPit will show you an individual TXT record to confirm ownership. This record starts with site-verification=.
Enter this TXT record with your domain’s current DNS provider.
For the external domain, open MORE → External Domain Setup.
For an interruption-free migration, first select that DNS management remains with the current provider.
Then copy the required DNS records from the wizard and enter them at your current DNS provider.
If you want to use only the easyname email service, the following entries are typically required in CloudPit:
If you want to keep email addresses from your current provider, create them in CloudPit before switching.
To do this, open Email → Email Addresses in your web hosting package and create the required addresses and mailboxes.
Transfer your website data and, if applicable, databases to easyname.

Then enter these records in the Control Panel under Domains → DNS for the affected domain.

If you want to keep email addresses from your current provider, create them in the Control Panel before switching.

Start the domain transfer only after the website, email addresses, and DNS records are prepared.
Open Domains → Transfer Domains in the Control Panel.
Add the desired domain transfer to the shopping cart.
During checkout, activate the option Automatically configure domain(s) (recommended).
This will switch the nameservers to easyname. If all DNS records have been correctly transferred beforehand, the website and email services will remain accessible.
Not every domain extension can be registered or transferred to easyname. Availability depends on technical, legal, contractual, or registry requirements.
The authoritative source is always the Domain and TLD List. A domain extension can only be registered or transferred if it is offered there, selectable, and available for the desired process.
If a domain extension is not offered in the Domain and TLD List, is not selectable there, or is not available for registration or transfer, then registration or transfer of that domain extension via easyname is not possible.
