Table of Contents

Add external domain in CloudPit

Log in to CloudPit. In the overview, you will see your products.

Find the desired web hosting package. Click next to it on MORE (1) and then on Add external domain (2).

To confirm ownership, a TXT record is required. This record will be displayed to you in CloudPit.

Enter the TXT record with your current domain provider. This is the provider where the domain is registered.

Once the TXT record has been set, enter the full domain name in CloudPit and confirm your input.

CloudPit will then automatically check whether the TXT record is found.

After successful verification, the domain will appear in your domain overview and can be used in the web hosting, e.g., for websites, email addresses, or redirects.

Note: DNS changes can take up to 48 hours depending on the provider. If the verification does not work immediately, wait a few hours and try again.

Add external domain in Control Panel

Log in to the Control Panel and open Domains (1).

Then click on External Domains (2).

You will then be shown various options on how to connect the external domain with easyname.

Externe Domain im Controlpanel hinzufügen

Your domain provider must make one of the displayed changes so that the domain can be connected.

In most cases, the nameserver change is the easiest and most reliable option.

Note: Before making a nameserver change, check whether existing websites or email addresses will continue to function correctly. An incorrect DNS configuration can cause websites or email services to become unreachable.

After the chosen method has been implemented, you can add the domain.

If an error message appears, wait a few hours and try again. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours.
